The Villupuram Educational Trust is the founding body behind VET College of Education. The Trust was formally established through a Deed of Trust on 20th December 2006, and registered as per legal requirements under Registration No. 222 of 2006 in Book IV, Volume with the Joint Sub-Registrar, Villupuram.

The core objective of the Villupuram Educational Trust is to advance education, particularly in rural and underdeveloped areas, by setting up institutions that uphold high academic standards while being accessible and affordable to students from all backgrounds.
Since its formation, the Trust has remained committed to its founding ideals—focusing on educational empowerment, community development, and nation-building through quality teacher education. The establishment of VET College of Education in 2008 stands as a testament to the Trust's enduring commitment to these goals.
